MISSION

ArtGallery is a cultural association based in Milan, founded in 2003 by Angela D'Amelio, an expert in communication and visual arts.

Albe Steiner's pupil, she worked in many Graphic Design Studios in Milan, Johannesburg and Copenhagen. In 1990 she founded “Carta e Matita”, a Visual Communication and Adv Agency she’s still manage as Creative Director and Chief. He also teaches Basic Design at the Academy of Communication in Milan, and she’s a professor of Graphic Design at the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design of Milan). He has worked with WWF, Legambiente, Terres des Hommes Italy, Magnoni Foundation, Kennedy Foundation, Italy, Museo Poldi Pezzoli, Laureus Foundation, and founded the non-profit association ArtGallery. Member of the Directors Board of UNICOM (National Union of Communication Companies), she’s an Ordinary Member of the Italian Art Directors Club and Art Directors Club of New York, a member AIAP (Italian Association for Visual Communication), and professional member TP.

Angela D'Amelio has great confidence in the power of creativity: a resource still often unused. A form
of unlimited energy. Infinite, sustainable, in development. A resource - really no alternative - that should be
spent liberally. It is precisely from this thought that Angela D'Amelio wanted to create the Association and
the first ArtGallery Award then.

What is Artgallery?: Artgallery is a non-profit association founded to promote emerging artists.

Over time, the site became a place of consultation between artists and art lovers. The project has grown to exceed the boundaries of the web, involving Museums and Foundations in the country. Artgallery has organized real exhibitions and events for several years.
What are the activities of Artgallery?: Artgallery promotes artists through a virtual art gallery, press office, reviews, exhibitions, cultural events and collaborations with companies.
Where is Artgallery?: In Milan, in Via Orseolo 3.
Who is the Artist of the Month?: She/he is an artist selected each month, considered among the most interesting of the Italian scene. The artists of the month receive the right to publish their works for a month on the virtual gallery of Artgallery. A dedicated press office promotes the exhibition.
Why the Artist of the Month is selected?: Because this filter gives credibility to the work of artists and makes the virtual gallery more similar, in operation, as a "traditional" exhibition space.
Why become an artist of Artgallery?: Because joining the Association is a start. Artgallery strives to create an active dialogue between artists, companies and fans. Through our activities, some artists have had the opportunity to be known among institutions or companies, finding an alternative way to promote their works.
